Here's a review of the Suave Porn CD from Sven Philipp of Sympatico Music ~ not the most flattering!
Fav quotes:
"most generic rock album of the year"
"where's the smokin' hot House Band when you need them?"

Album Premiere

Mere days ~ okay, hours ~ ahead of the official release date, you can hear the tracks from the Suave Porn album ~ okay, CD ~ if you clicky clicky here.
Updated Webpage
The boys have shelled out some extra cash to lure in/entertain the masses on their webpage. Almost impressive enough to make me forget that they are not performing in Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba.
Almost.
Almost.

Newsted's Replacement Named

Colt will appear with the group when it makes it national TV debut Nov. 21 on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and during its first tour, which begins Dec. 31 in Las Vegas.
I know nothing about this guy, except he seems to be the "ex-bassist" for a lot of groups. No judgement, just a comment.

House Band: Where Are They Now?

Our boys, the incredible House Band from Rockstar, will be the backup band for Paul Stanley on his upcoming solo tour.
Lukas Has A New Girlfriend
...and her name is Kendra Jade, former porn star.

Do we all remember the "incident" with his long-time girlfriend Francesca { 7 years dating} at the after-party on Finale Night? If not, check it the post here or view the video here. When do you think their relationship ended? That night, or a respectable 24 hours after he became the lead singer of Suave Porn?

My Thoughts Echoed
From Culio.com
A major shoulder injury has forced Rock Star Supernova bassist Jason Newsted to take time off of the band - up to nine months off. Jason tore his left bicep and rotator cuff when he tried to catch a bass that fell off an amplifier. Rock Star Supernova's album comes out next month, and the band's tour is scheduled to begin on December 31st. A replacement for Jason is being searched for.
"When we started this project, I was handed a list of names -- guys who could potentially anchor our rhythm section," Lee says in a statement. "I responded by crumpling up the paper and asking, 'Where's Newsted?' Jason was always the right guy for this band and we'll miss having him with us as we kick off our album and tour, but we know he'll be back as soon as he can pick up and play."
So this makes yet another cancellation for fans who already bought tickets for the shows. The beloved House Band, as well as several finalists who were scheduled to be on the tour have been dumped. And now Jason most likely won't be around. I wonder who else will disappear by the time the shows start.
Isn't that what I said? I think so.

More Tour Bad News
Hot off the press from Dave Navarro's blog:
"I just received news that Jason Newsted will not be joining Supernova on the upcoming tour. He has apparently sustained a serious shoulder injury and will be out of commission for up to 9 months. That... SUCKS!!! Word on the street is that his bass head fell on him. Jason, I feel your pain... I hope you make a swift recovery. "
Also, confirmed from T.Lee's website:
ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA BASSIST JASON NEWSTED SUFFERS SHOULDER INJURY IN ACCIDENT:
As they gear up for the November 21st release of their highly anticipated Epic debut and the New Year's Eve launch of their much-buzzed-about national tour, ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA have suffered a major setback with the loss of all-star bassist Jason Newsted.
The former Metallica member is scheduled for immediate surgery to repair a torn anterior labrum in his left shoulder and a rotator cuff and bicep tear in the right. Newsted suffered the injuries while trying to catch a 90-lb bass head that had fallen from atop his amp. The surgery will be followed by a lengthy rehab assignment that could leave him sidelined for up to nine months.
"I'm freaking out," Says Newsted, "My heart was set on finally getting on the road with these guys, but my main focus now is to build myself back to 100%. The stage is set for the band, I wish them the best of luck."
The band - rounded out by vocalist Lukas Rossi, drummer Tommy Lee and guitarist Gilby Clarke - is currently searching for a suitable replacement to handle touring duties while Newsted recovers.

As for who will handle bass duties until then, we've got a few monster guys in mind, any one of which can hit the ground running. Stay tuned."
Here's my question ~ is ANYONE actually going to be on the tour as previously advertised? I have my doubts.
In other news, heard Suave Porn song "Be Yourself & 5 OTher Cliches" on the radio yesterday. Sounded good.

Line-up Change For Tour

According to this article, Storm, Magni & The House Band will no longer be opening for & touring with Suave Porn.
So, essentially, there is really no reason to go, except for maybe.....

What Were They Thinking?
So the rock group that needed to be named thought long & hard into the night over beers, tequila shots & skanky women to come up with a new name for their amazing band.
After assembling all their brain cells into one petrie dish, putting it into one of those amazing machine froms CSI that shake, rattle & roll evidence samples, they heard a tiny, squeeky "A-Ha!". A new name they have.
drumroll please.
And the winner is: Rockstar:Supernova. That's right. They've named the band after the show.

Other Name Options
Continuing with helping SP find a new name {although why they wouldn't use SuavePorn is beyond me} here are a couple other options, made from anagrams of SuperNova ~ and no, I did not think of these myself:
A Perv On Us
So Parvenu
parvenu \PAR-vuh-noo; -nyoo\, noun:1. One that has recently or suddenly risen to a higher social or economic class but has not gained social acceptance of others in that class; an upstart.

It's Begun
(found on Sympatico's Dramarama page, written by Ryan Porter)
"Rock Star Eliminates Girlfriend
Rockstar winner Lukas Rossi, whose name only means anything to me because Entertainment Tonight Canada has run about 100 successive days of coverage on him, finally has a foot in the door. His girlfriend, however, will have to wait on the sidewalk.
The website TMZ posted video yesterday that was filmed outside Lukas's victory party. While Lukas is cheered as he enters the party with Tommy Lee, a woman named Francesca, claiming to be Lukas's girlfriend, is turned away. At one point, in between congratulations from hangers-on, Lukas takes Francesca, who eTalk Daily reported he has been dating for seven years, aside, though TMZ captions him saying, "What girlfriend?" in the video.
Francesca says she was banned from the party because some shadowy Rockstar people didn't want Lukas to be seen with a girl. That's a really sorry thing to do to your girlfriend. Matchmaker, can you please set this girl up with a decent guy?"
Puffy Kracker predicted there would be a backlash against Lukas as the second Canadian to win an Rockstar. I don't know know if this is the case, or if it's just a media frenzy for the first 15 min of fame. Time will tell.

A Three Way Elimination Match May Be Brewing
Philosphy of a Rock Star
- Overthought songs tend to be overthought.
- Life is a constant clinic.
- If you're gonna roll with the big dogs, you better have a pretty mean bite.
Trouble In Paradise
The boys are in trouble. A judge has ruled that they are no longer able to use the name SuperNova.
May I suggest the most obvious Suave Porn?
Or perhaps Raven Soup?
Or Avon Purse?
